People on Jinibara (3-6)

​Come and experience Jinibara Country, Soak it up. This program is availible as a multi day camp or a single day visit. 

Focussed on an appreciation of the history of Jinibara and the colonial pioneering of the area. Watch as your students develop their perspective of daily life for the people of the area pre and post contact and consider the connections to their everyday life and future. 

Programs can include experiences such as Jinibara tribal games, damper making, Jinibara and pioneering tools and technologies, story sharing and learning language. 

Multi day programs for the upper grades can also include a basecamp where students work together to spend a night camping out away from the centre deepening their connection to the country.

General Capabilities: Personal and Social Capability are covered within this program.

Cross curricular Priorities: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures are covered within this program.

Other Curriculum Opportunities: History, Design and Technologies, Geography, Sustainability. 

Your Stanley River Environmental Education Centre teacher will be in contact to plan a comprehensive curriculum map which suits the learning opportunities you wish to connect with. 

Logistical considerations

Day visit Hours Hours are 9am—3pm.

Stanley River Environmental Education Centre can cater for up to three class groups (72 students MAX).​
