Adventurous Journeys - (7-12)

Through a canoeing, hiking or cycling journey students will take on a multi day campout immersing themselves in the natural environment.

Promoting mental, emotional, physical and social health through 'Outdoor Learning', students will deepen their understanding of themselves, others and the environment.  Students will engage, with increasing autonomy, in all aspects of an expedition journey learning navigation, campsite management and cooking.

General Capabilities: All aspects of Personal and Social Capability are covered within this program.

Other curriculum Opportunities: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures, Sustainability.

Your Stanley River Environmental Education Centre teacher will be in contact to plan a comprehensive curriculum map which suits the learning opportunities you wish to connect with. 

Logistical considerations

Season: Year round.

Duration: 4 day 3 night program is the optimal experience.

Stanley River Environmental Education Centre can cater for up to three class groups of 16 students (48 Students MAX).​
