Stanley River Adventures (2 - 5 days)

This is a lightweight style camping adventure that focuses on student autonomy and responsibility, building meaningful connections through sustained time connecting to country. 

Why Choose this Program?

  • Promoting mental, emotional, physical and social health through 'Outdoor Learning', students will deepen their understanding of themselves, others and the environment.  
  • Students will engage, with increasing autonomy, in all aspects of an expedition journey learning navigation, campsite management and cooking.

General Capabilities: All aspects of Personal and Social Capability are covered within this program.

Other curriculum Opportunities: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures, Sustainability.

Logistical considerations

Season: Year round. Journeys are subject to change to due to weather/environmental conditions.  

Duration: 2 - 5 day program.

Stanley River Environmental Education Centre can cater for up to two class groups of 16 students.​
